About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

Our Foodbank started in October 2013, with one Distribution Centre, which has now increased to 11 Distribution Centres within South and East Leeds.

In the year 2015 we provided food for 5262 people, consisting of 3069 adults and 2193 children.

Various reasons caused these people to need help from the Foodbank, such as benefit changes and delays, delayed wages, low income, and various other situations.

We work with a number of companies, schools and organisations, who donate food, money, and also provide volunteers. Some of these are:

DTP, Manhein Motors, Tesco, National Powergrid, Lloyds Bank, Sky, West Yokshire Police, Royds School, Yorkshire Pallet Grid, Jacobs Engineering, and many others, all have our utmost thanks for their help and generosity.

Our Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.
