Can you help people in Leeds this Harvest?

16th September 2025

This Harvest we’re asking you to help support local people in crisis by collecting tinned and dried food for Leeds South and East Foodbank. We are asking everyone to rally round to give items such as breakfast cereals, pasta sauces, tinned veg, tinned tomatoes, tinned meat, rice pudding and custard, UHT milk, fruit juice and pasta.

Our latest figures reveal that we have provided 14,336 emergency food parcels to people who couldn’t afford the essentials in Leeds over the last year – and 5,098 of these went to children. In addition to this, food banks across the Trussell community provided 2.9 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis last year – with over 1 million of these going to children.

Food banks provide emergency food and practical support to people who have been left without enough money to live on. Rising food and fuel prices, static incomes, high unemployment and changes to benefits are causing many families to struggle to put food on the table but you can help be part of the solution by supporting Leeds South and East Foodbank.

People also get emotional support, and a reminder that they are not alone and someone understands. The volunteers at food banks offer a friendly face and basic kindness. For many people, it’s the first time someone has sat down and listened to them – especially when they have been worn down by the way our social security system currently works.

Please join us by giving food so that local people in crisis don’t face hunger. We really appreciate your support so we can make the greatest possible difference to people experiencing hardship in Leeds.

NB: Please make sure all food is unopened, non-perishable, in date, and undamaged. Thank you!
